Condusef and the ranking of insurers

The National Commission for the Protection and Defense of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) is a decentralized body in charge of protecting, advising and defending the rights of consumers of financial products. This institution conducts a study to rank insurers, including information on the care they provide, the products they offer, and how users rate them. 

This ranking of insurers will help you make a better decision when hiring a product. To learn a little more about the behavior of insurers in Mexico, from January to September 2020, we offer you some figures:

  • 55,185 claims were filed with insurers (reported by the financial institution and received by the Condusef).
  • Of all of them, only 76 proceeded as sanctions for the companies.
  • The four institutions that received the most complaints were: 
    • Citibanamex Seguros, with 11,492 
    • GNP, with 8,930
    • Inbursa Patrimonial, with 7,622
    • National MetLife, with 5,334
The best qualified in the customer service performance index
  • 9.95 is the rating of Deco Seguros
  • 9.91 is the Prudential rating
  • 9.83 is the rating of Zurich Aseguradora Mexicana

Basic standardized car insurance
  • Solunion Mexico, with a rating of 9.98
  • Quálitas Insurance Company, with a rating of 9.28
  • Seguros Inbursa, with a rating of 9.18
 Basic standardized life insurance
  • Tokio Marine Insurance Company, with a rating of 9.38
  • Seguros Monterrey, with a rating of 9.15
  • Axa Seguros, with a rating of 9.08
Medical expenses insurance
  • Seguros Banorte, rated 9.85
  • Seguros Atlas, rated 9.84
  • Allianz Mexico, qualified with 9.68
